Invitation to Receive Jesus

Baptized into the Body of Christ

I believe the Lord is reaching out to you, possibly answering a hearts’ cry you’ve had. I want you to know that God loves you and is offering you a FREE gift: the gift of His Son, Jesus. If you have never received His gift, today I’d like to offer you an invitation to do so. Â Inviting and receiving Jesus makes you spiritually born-again and a child of God, like me and millions of other people, and me, are. Jesus made it possible, and through His finished work on the cross, your sins have already been forgiven over 2,000 years ago. You do have a part, but it’s easy. Your part is to believe this, by faith, receive Jesus and what He did for you, and then confess Him as your Lord and Savior. Receiving Jesus means you don’t only receive forgiveness for sin, but you also receive all of God’s Promises and complete freedom from being stuck living a life of sin and bondage.

Today, if you have never received Jesus by making Him your Lord and Savior, and you want to, you can right now! God’s Word says, “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). It also says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

Here’s a sample of how you can talk to God about this.  You can pray (talk to God) and say this if you believe it and choose to: (Hint: This is a conversation with you and God.)

Jesus, I confess that I need You as my Savior. You are Lord and I believe in my heart that You took my sins to the Cross and died for me and that God raised You from the dead. By faith and believing in Your Word, I call upon Your name and I receive Your Salvation and everything You did for me. Thank you for saving me and coming into my heart and life! I receive Your love for me and ask You to help me love others unconditionally, the same way You love me.

Jesus, I choose to make You my Lord, and I offer You my life, to make something out of it that points others to you.  With Your help, I will follow You the rest of my life.

Thank You Father God, for giving me Jesus and a new spirit and making me clean from my past life of sin. Thank You for adopting me into Your family and making me Your child.

If you said this by faith for the first time, my friend, you now have been made righteous and have received Jesus inside of you. His Spirit won’t leave you. Now, it’s important to let someone know right away. Talk to the Lord and ask Him to lead you to the church He wants you to attend so you can join together with other believers, worshipping Him and being taught His Word, the Bible. Remember, your spirit is now different, but your mind, will, and emotions are not. They will soon change as you build a personal relationship with God and begin changing how you think. Renewing your mind (by reading what God’s Word says) will line up your ways of living to His good ways and plan for you.

If you are someone who has walked away from letting Jesus live through you, then you can renew your commitment to Him right now! Start fresh today and move forward by getting on God’s good path for you.

This may be the first time you’ve ever made Jesus your Lord, or perhaps you are just coming back to Him. Either way, you should immediately take action and move forward building a personal relationship with Him by getting to know Him. As you read God’s Word, your mind will change, and your actions will be transformed and cleansed from your old way of living. You will learn more about His love for you and begin to recognize His voice leading you. As you tap into God’s love for you and the grace He has given you, your harmful habits and old lifestyle will no longer be as tempting to your flesh. Your desires will change because your heart has changed.  You will soon be living from the inside out—from your new, born-again spirit. You are now free to exercise control over the thoughts and emotions that once ran your life and kept you on “merry-go-rounds.”

Get a Bible and start by reading the Book of John, Romans, and the Book of First John–then just keep reading. Get some Word (Truth) in you right away!

Congratulations on your new beginning!  If I don’t meet you here on Earth, I’ll meet you in Heaven!!

Baptism in Water

I encourage you to also be baptized in water, whole body physically immersed, by another believer.  Water baptism allows your faith to be made public and not hidden from the world. You publicaly show that you are now dead to sin, born-again, and alive to God when you do this. You are identifying with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. Going under the water identifies with Jesus’ death and burial.  It symbolizes how your old man is dead and buried with Jesus. Coming up out of the water identifies with Jesus’ physical resurrection from the dead.  It symbolizes how your new man is alive and now Christ lives in you.

What a celebration the angels are having for you!

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

When you called upon Jesus and confessed Him as your Lord, believing He is the Son of God, you became a born-again child of God.  At that point, you were baptized (spiritually immersed) into the Body of Christ, by the Holy Spirit.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.  For in fact the body is not one member but many (1 Corinthians 12:13-14).

Your Heavenly Father gave to you Jesus, and you received the gift of Jesus. He also wants to give you the gift of His Holy Spirit, the supernatural power you will need to live this new life as His child.  You can be baptized (spiritually immersed) in the Holy Spirit as a believer. When this happens, you will also receive a unique prayer language and will be able to pray out things that you do not know. Praying in this new language will edify and strengthen you. You will be praying a perfect prayer because the Holy Spirit inside of you will be speaking through your spirit. You will use your own voice, though, making the sounds and words. It will not make sense to your natural mind and it is unique to each person.  It’s easy to receive; but just like with salvation, it is only for those who believe.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him! (Luke 11:13, emphasis mine)

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me. (Acts 1:8, emphasis mine)

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4, emphasis mine)

Here is a sample prayer (conversation with God) that you can have when you are ready to receive.

“Father, I recognize my need for Your power to live this new life. I want all that you have for me. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. By faith, I receive Him right now. Thank You for baptizing me in Your Holy Spirit.”

Now, by faith, start speaking! Once you begin speaking in your prayer language, you can use it as often as you want.  Just as a child develops his vocabulary by continuing to speak, you will develop your spiritual prayer language as you continue to use it.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t speak any syllables out at first. You only need to ask once, just as with receiving anything from the Lord. Now just thank Him and believe that it has happened.

You are now more equipped and ready to move on with your life than ever before!

I’m thankful for you receiving from this post!
