Pop the Cork & Go

In the final chapter of my book, OFF the Merry-Go-Round and ON With Your Life!, I share the entire story. I’ll give you the short version here.

In the mid-1990’s, I was attending a Full Gospel church meeting where there was a special guest speaker who ministered through words of knowledge and wisdom, among other spiritual gifts. During the service, at one point, I was deep in worship, praising God and asking Him to manifest Himself to me in ways I’ve never experienced before. I became quite aware that my spiritual side was influencing my natural body and emotions. I began to shake—inside first, and then my whole body—when I heard inside my spirit these words: “I’m going to pop your cork!”

Instantly I pictured a bottle of champagne shaking back and forth. It had so much pressure built up in the bottle that the champagne inside just started spraying out all over the place when the cork was popped. It’s a little bit hard to explain, but right after I saw this in my mind, the guest minister came up behind me and put his hand on the top of my head. I felt my head get very hot, and then suddenly, it physically felt like a pop went off inside my thinking and I began to laugh and cry off and on as I felt pressure being released.

What happened next amazed me. This minister said to the congregation, “God just popped her cork!” God is Spirit, and He communicated that same message to both the guest minister and me in our spirits. How cool is that! That was God manifesting His spiritual presence to me physically.

The back story of this is that before this happened that evening, I told God I wanted to know Him more. I gave Him permission to mess up my wrong thinking from previous traditional religious teachings I had been indoctrinated in. For years, I went to denominational churches that limited the presence and power of God from manifesting in my life. I would reject any teachings outside of my denominations “circle” and would never allow God to show me anything new outside of what the preacher in that denomination was teaching.

Later, after this evening’s experience, I realized that this was the beginning of my freedom from years of having a religious cork, so to speak, which kept who I really am IN CHRIST all bottled up. What started to get released that night was the lies and bondage of religious and legalistic thinking and actions. The process started! After that cork supernaturally got removed, I allowed God to show me things in the Bible differently then what I had ever seen or heard before.

My spiritual revelations have been progressive, as should be. My heart is to help you in your journey with God, helping you pop-off religious lies and actions that have you all corked up—teachings and traditions that man came up with—and get you walking through your life on Earth free and prospering in every area.

True Christianity is an intimate, close relationship with God. It’s about knowing God’s TRUE nature and receiving His unconditional love for you, then living out of His love and characteristics that came inside of you when you received Jesus by believing in Him and what He did for you. It’s what I teach and how I live each day of my life. Am I perfect at it? No—but I have learned the difference between living on a man-made religious and church-going merry-go-round vs living from a relationship with the God—the Creator of the universe Who lives INSIDE of me. I hope to help you live this way also.
